Answers to the BURNING questions you all want to know

The Savannah City Council has finalized the details of the new fire fee for those who live within the city limits.  For 2018 only, the fee will be a lump sum added to the 2nd half city tax bill.  Beginning in 2019, the fire fee will be split between the 1st and 2nd half city tax bills.

The minimum base fire fee for a single family residence no greater than 1,700 square feet will be $256.00.  Larger homes and other types of property will be charged a higher fee.  Property owners can qualify for up to a 20 percent reduction of the annual fee.  Applications for the discount this year will only be accepted between April 15, 2018 and June 1, 2018.  Full details and the application are included in the link below.  For further information you can contact the City of Savannah Revenue Department at 912-525-2810 or via email: firefee@savannahga.gov.
